Big Rock Print Ad

I submitted this print ad to the annual Big Rock Beer contest in Calgary, Alberta—The Eddies Awards. The rooster is their trademark.

I created the image using a line-art of the Big Rock logo, a photo of barley and another of wood grain. Although I liked the initial idea, the painstaking task of recreating the barley along the rooster's edge made me less enthusiastic. In the end it was worth it—my submission made the top ten out of almost 200 entries. I also earned a V.I.P. invitaion to attend quite an awards party!
